Supporting the Guardians of the Atlantic Forest
At Meta Mate, sustainability goes beyond responsible sourcing.
We believe in supporting the people who have protected these forests for generations.
That’s why we partner with Projeto Origem, a volunteer-led initiative working alongside 13 Guaraní communities across Paraná, Brazil. The project is run by Jane, wife of our producer, and Juan, an Argentinian activist, and focuses on environmental conservation, Indigenous knowledge, food security, education, and community development.
Building Long-Term Relationships
Our relationship with the Guaraní community began through the Escola de Cuidado project, together with Rodrigo & Marcio, at Pico do Jaraguá in São Paulo.
In 2024, we visited the territory, supported local reforestation efforts, and shared 500 mate samples with the community — contributing to a long tradition of resilience, cultural preservation, and forest care.
This experience strengthened our commitment to supporting Indigenous communities and projects with lasting environmental and social impact.
Our First Community Contribution
Following that visit, our partnership with Projeto Origem helped deliver 500 kg of essential food supplies to Guaraní communities.
Rather than one-time actions, we see these initiatives as part of a long-term relationship built on collaboration, respect, and shared values.
Looking Ahead
Together with Projeto Origem, we hope to continue supporting projects that improve everyday life in Indigenous communities while protecting the Atlantic Forest.
One of the upcoming initiatives is helping bring solar energy to the Vy’A community on Superagüi Island, providing clean and reliable electricity to families living in a remote area.
